Melissa Taylor, professional organizer and paralegal
I am a professional organizer at heart and love helping people see the light at the end of the tunnel. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed or need a little hand holding, take a breathe and know you are in good hands.
I have been a paralegal for over 10 years. In the legal field you need to be organized as not to miss deadlines, prepare for trial and be able locate one particular document within thousands of pages. At each law office I have had the pleasure of working at I have been deemed the organizer of the kitchen, supply and copy rooms.
Another key factor in being a paralegal and professional organizer is communication. In the legal field I have had clients that are dealing with the loss of a loved one, personal injuries that have caused emotional stress, clients that need hand holding and clients that are eager to help and extremely organized (though the latter is rare).
Along with my profession I am a wife and mother. My husband and I have been married for over 14 years and have two children. If I'm not working I am constantly thinking of ways I can help my family stay organized. If I make it too organized my kids will never stick with the plan and I end up doing everything. For example, I wanted my kids to neatly put their backpacks, lunch boxes and binders in the hall closet. Well, that didn’t work so well. They threw their “stuff” in the closet, shut the door and then rush in the mornings to gather everything they needed. I had to think ok, where is the best place they can put their stuff, looks neat, and is efficient. I moved a table close to the front door bought pretty bins, designated a bin with their name, and now everything they need is in their bin. Mornings are more efficient, and everyone feels more organized.
I am enthusiastic to help you create a Taylor’d living space that fits your organizing needs.
